PADANG | KBA – In this era of sophisticated technology, gadgets have become part of everyday life for adults and small children. Gadget addiction is one of the problems that parents often complain about.
In the Parenting Talkshow entitled ‘Becoming a Parent and Teacher with Smart Parenting’, Fery Farhati said that every parent needs to apply consistency in raising children to avoid gadget addiction.
“The key is actually consistency, often we as parents respond to situations we and our children face without thinking about the impact in the future but rather thinking about the impact of current conditions,” said Fery at the Subulussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School Campus, Padang Pariaman Regency, Saturday, January 20 2024.
The first lady of presidential candidate number 1 said that the key to success in raising children is in the first 1000 days, which is an opportunity for parents to build and set the foundation for their child’s development.
Fery did not deny that consistently not giving gadgets and watching television to children is not easy. However, this is a process of learning discipline for children.
“Of course struggle It’s not easy, there are definitely fights with children, children cry, but that’s the process of them learning to deal with consistent rules from their parents. “It’s okay for a child to cry, but let’s not bend because a child cries,” he said.
Fery explained that in raising children, parents can apply five values, namely, love, visionary, learning parents, religious, and parental presence. According to him, with these five principles, educating children becomes easier
“In the beginning, for the first five years, we persevered, we worked hard, we were patient. “Be tired at the start, get sick first and have fun when our children are teenagers, God willing,” he said.
Please note, the parenting agenda is a routine agenda carried out by the Subulussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School for parents of students.
